Maybe I'm grumpy from lack of sleep from this annoying cold but the new January-February Contest Voting Thread looks hijacked. Please keep threads on topic. The short story contest replies should be about the 11 stories. If you want to debut a new story, please start a new thread, don't put it in an existing thread, unless you are directly continuing a thread you started. Also given that it's meant to be a high traffic thread, try not to pop too many little jokes there. One big thread is more reader friendly than multiple little ones ESPECIALLY if you do two consecutive posts where you are essentially replying to yourself (or three, Bob). Don't make a gazillion little posts when one post will ones. That's why we have the editing function. We have a core of frequent posters but we also have forumites who lurk more than they post. Be courteous to them wanting to read the pieces and about them. Jokes about Slannada can go in their own thread. Off-topic is good sometimes, particularly if the thread is a discussion or a humor page, but if a thread is set up to showcase x, then please keep the replies about x and not other stuff.
Yeah... Maybe we should have a stickied thread titled "miscellaneous" where folks can go to chat about trivial or unrelated stuff. I posted a funny* stegadon-related news story on the competition thread because it was the closest I could see to a general chat zone, and the article was far too unimportant to deserve a thread of its own. *I found it funny.
Slannada? I have come across a couple of threads mentioning it. What is it? Sorry @Scalenex. I just kind of want to know what it is. Reply, then I will edit this post to say something relevant and interesting.
I will not edit for relevance feel free to delete this. Slannada is a wonderful place, beaverdons and Moosasaurus as far as the eye can see. Year round snow, even in 35°C weather. And bloodbowl on ice. They have two distinct dialects there, and gravy and cheese on the ixti grubs.
O Slannada! Our home and native land! True cold-blooded love in all thy things command. With skaven hearts we see thee rise, The Great Plan strong and free! From far and wide, O Slannada, we stand on guard for thee. Old Ones keep our jungle glorious and free! O Slannada, we stand on guard for thee. O Slannada, we stand on guard for thee.
