I pick Alaska as the State i live in
for a land invasion, you must pass through Canada, and that won't happen. So, air strikes and naval invasion

The 2 states that are gonna support me (and must defend themselves):
California: it hosts the naval base of San Diego, main homeport of the pacific fleet AND the Edward air force base + the Beale air force base, which is always nice to have
Arizona: (MAYBE) Luke air force base (which should have the largest fighter force in the US) & David-Monthans air force base (home of the US southern command).

Of course, Texas could be a problem, and i could opt for it as second pick, given US Army armored division bases are primarily concentrated in that State, and there's Fort Worth for air support

(Edit: i think it would be "unfair" to pick a State as Texas as my home)
