Oh, I'm not being that precise at all (though I probably should be...). I've just been freehanding it. My plan was to go back and touch up where it's uneven. And believe me, there's LOTS of mistakes. But it's a WIP right now.

You're too modest re: the banner, it looks amazing!

Thanks! I really like it too. So hard to capture the cool color transition from blue to purple in a still-frame picture. They look even better in person. I still have a good way to go on them though!

So, I just bought a big Lizardmen lot off eBay for about $230. It contained (all new in box) an OOP Lizardmen Battalion box, Carnosaur box, Bastilidon box, Saurus Cavalry box, Saurus Warriors box and Skink box. I'm thinking that I'm going to give my hand at painting these up really nicely and selling them off on eBay for a decent mark-up. My goal would to make around $600 and up. I'll probably sell them in smaller unit sets though. That way I don't get raped by someone under bidding and flying under the radar.

What do you guys think? Does anyone have much experience with this? I've never sold anything on eBay, so I'd appreciate any good advice.

Couple of things to watch out for.

    1. Always send items signed for, never send it without, trust me it's worth it.
    2. Don't guess at postage costs, apply the correct postage cost to your listing
    3. In the listing put a disclaimer about damage and feedback etc, something like this,

    **Please note**

All items will be well packed but accidents do happen during the postal system, I cannot be held responsible for any damage occurred and usually a spot of superglue will fix any issues.

New ebay members with less than 20 feedback please message me before bidding or I reserve the right to cancel your bid.

Please see my other listings and I will always combine postage for purchases.

    Happy bidding and good luck

    4. Take the full allocation of free pictures and describe it well, a good title will get people looking, when I sold Arkhan I did this,

**Age Of Sigmar, Arkhan the Black, Death Rattle, Pro Painted, Must see Item** then in your first line of the description put this.

Although I'm not a Pro painter these models are painted as good as those that claim to be "pro painted" on ebay.

Thanks! That's the kind of stuff I need to know!

Question: Why the disclaimer on not being a Pro painter? Do people actually call you out on that? I see that written on postings ALL THE TIME, but I don't ever recall seeing a disclaimer like that. I don't actually see how someone could claim that it wasn't pro painted either, since that would be a subjective personal preference. The images would be there in advance as well, so it's not like they'd have to go solely on the item description. It just seems to me like your telling the viewer that, "These really aren't that good."

I suppose this is just a pet peeve of mine, since I've bought tons of models off eBay that stated "Pro Painted" and once I received them, I strip them or simply just paint over the simplistic job that was done. There have only been maybe 3 models that, once received, I kept as it, because they were actually that good. I dunno.

These are some of the Lizardmen that I want to get ready to sell on eBay. The lot I bought of L-men off eBay should be getting to me soon, but in the meantime, I had these two sitting in a box, waiting for me to do something with them. I got as far as I could with them this weekend, but since I'm paying attention down to the smallest detail, and my in-laws came into town for Father's Day, I wasn't able to finish them. I'm probably about 2/3's of the way done on both. Sorry about the crappy pics.

Bastiladon w/ Solar Engine: (I actually have a couple of washes applied to this guy and the gems after these pics, so it has a little bit more done on it.)

So that's where I'm at ATM. If you have any ideas or suggestions as to things that might help improve from this point forward, please let me know.

I just put it in as I am not a pro painter but they are better than most that claim it, I agree it's on a lot of listings and 90% of them are badly painted.

So that makes me wonder what exactly would qualify someone as a "Pro Painter". Is it because that is their job? Because they've won some award? They have a college degree in some area of design? What do people consider a qualifier for being a "Pro Painter"?

No idea but a lot say it which I find a bit misleading which is why I put in the disclaimer, never had anyone complain the opposite really, had a few asking how I have painted stuff so they can copy the scheme.

Well, I'd say you qualify as a pro just based off your work. I'd pay for your stuff far sooner than a lot of the stuff out there!

Painting only the downward facing triangles and leaving the others dark is a good idea.
Might borrow that for my second Stegadon...

I'm still up in the air about how to base these guys. Round base or square base. I fully support 8th edition and LOVE ranked armies. (They just look SOOO GOOD!) But I'm sure placing them on round bases (especially with the new edition coming out) will sell much better. Decisions, decisions, decisions....

You have to look at the market and see who plays what, if AOS is the stuff selling well, round bases all the way, your painting to sell so max market coverage is needed and the launch of AOS2 with new summoning could well make Seraphon a top tier army so there will be a demand for models and if they are painted bonus.
