No clue... a random google image find. I think it makes for good terrain inspiration though!

Some more Mayan masks, mostly jade.

    From Calakmul:

This one is from Palenque, specifically the burial mask of King Pacal the Great (Kinich Janaab Pakal):

    Jaguar-motif:

Also this Mayan mask reminded me of the Phantom of the Opera:

    06be94b54632f38e65762d2de15a3dfe.jpg

Its some sort of animal, maybe a dog or a jaguar? Not sure:

@Kalokagathia 's vibrant lizard colors have got me researching modern Mexican street art.

I like the Epi-Olmec and Zapotec glyphs best. Perhaps because they are easier to draw than the others. :D

Found these, labelled as from the Discover Mexico museum in Cozemul.

    Dioramas!

    cozumel_x_by_ldfranklin-d7d06uj.jpg

Pretty sure this one is the Uxmal Great Pyramid (Pyramid of the Magician)

    Talik Aj?

    cozumel_xii_by_ldfranklin-d7d077b.jpg

This one looks like part of Palenque based on the stone lintels on the doorways:

    cozumel_xiv_by_ldfranklin-d7d4rgw.jpg

    Awesome inspiration for tabletop terrain!

What was once thought to be a pyramid built on the side of a hill at the Mayan city of Tonina, I recently read that turns out, the hill turns out to have been a giant pyramid! It has been so overgrown over the centuries that archaeologists mistook the main pyramid for a hill!

    e5c33bd753f305276766151790bdea12.jpg

Looks like a pretty epic place!

One of the stela at the site:

Monument 146 at Tonina, looks like it is now in the site museum:

    Monumento 146.ToninĂ¡..jpg

One last shot of the main complex!
