They have to leave something special for the third game... and especially for those people who bought all three games. I've heard of the combined map for owners of games 1 & 2, but I'm sure they'll have an ace up their sleeve for the third installment.

That makes sense. Although who will be left for the third game then? Most of the interesting races are already a part of games 1 or 2. Tomb Kings are probably the most interesting of the unconfirmed/remaining races.

People seems to believe that the third game might have a chaos theme, with daemons of chaos being decided into the gods and perhaps even further expanding the chaos gods. I personally wouldn't be interested in such a concept and just be fine with the first two game. Just like you said I don't think there's a lot of interesting races left. TK and I guess Ogre Kingdom would be the ones I would still like to play, not yet announced, TK seems to be a DLC for game two, if we are going with the general theory.

That's a possibilty. My thought was that the third game might revolve around an extended campaign dealing with the end times. But I have no evidence for this. Chaos demons is more probable.

I really hope they don't go the route of the End Times. A daemon invasion would be far more preferable IMHO.

If they could save the Tomb Kings (unlikely as pointed out above) for the last game then Ogres + Tomb Kings + Daemons would hold some interest. Are there any other armies yet to be released?

Also didn't WoC get the short end of the stick? I keep hearing complaints about them in the game.

Chaos Dwarves I suppose and Dogs of War, those army books aren't much older than the latest Britonia, and they did quite a good job with them :)

Yes people didn't really like much about the whole Warriors of Chaos DLC and the way it was handled.

Well Tomb Kings + Chaos Dwarves + Daemons + Ogres would definitely be a mixed bag, but they could drum up a fair bit of interest.

What was the general consensus as to what is wrong with them? How were they mishandled?

to be honest I'm not entirely certain about all the details, but as far as I can gather it's something along the fact that they were a pre order DLC, when the first trailer kind of hinted at them being in the game at lunch. They were, but only if you preordered. Such things rarely go over well with the community, since they then obviously had them ready for lunch, but chose to ask for additional money for them (I know modern Triple A gaming).
The second thing was that the way they worked apparently isn't that well polish, in a game mechanic perspective. They have announced that there will be no DLC's for DLCs, so that means the way they work is the way they work. It doesn't help either that some players feels like this would also be a natural indication of that we wont get any Deity based warriors.

Quite frustrating. I hate all this pre-order nonsense.

That really sucks, especially as WoC are among my top 2 favorite armies. Are they merely lacking key units? Buggy? Poorly designed?

Well I don't have the DLC so I can onlytalk from encounters with them, through playing as other factions.
They've got as far as I know pretty much everything, but the Juggernauts (while I'm not certain, I've just never fought them in game). They're of course all undivided, I dunno if that also means something in terms of unit that feels very different. Like Nurgle v Korhn Warriors and those sort of things....
I reckon what makes people the most frustrated is the lack of nuance in the general campaign, as all you do is raze settlement, since WoC can't occupy any territory.

Well, one of the reasonings behind the WoC unit rooster and campaign is lacking in so many ways, is because they weren't meant to be in the game in the first place. They first startede developing on them a few months before realease. The reason they got put in was probally one of 3 reasons (heard from different sources). 1. Creative Assembly thought they were really necessery to the warhammer world. 2. Chaos was not supposed to be a playable faction until game 3 launched, and they would just be an AI army. 3. GW demanded they got put into the game.

Maybe there is another reason, but those are just the ones i have heard.

That would have made for a much more epic finale to be honest.

    That it would.

I heard (from an unofficial source) that game 3 would revolve mostly around the chaos wastes and chaos would have 5 factions, one for each god, and one for Chaos undivided. But if that is true, wouldn't that violate CA's no dlc for dlc policy? I personally think game 3 will have Chaos daemons as a faction, and they will complete the WoC rooster.

I could live with that. :)

God specific mortal units would be awesome though.

Do you think the red eyed rat at the end of the trailer means skaven?

Yes. That's been confirmed somewhere. They haven't said so officially, but yes, it means Skaven. A couple online videos I've seen have hinted that they are going to put them in the Southlands and focus, at least at first, on the plague clans. I'm more interested in Clan Skyre, but I'll still probably play them second when it comes out. Lizardmen, of course, will be my first run through.

I think that is a pretty safe bet. I'd be completely shocked if they weren't the 4th race.

It'll very likely be Skaven as the fourth race, with a slight possibility for them being the first DLC and Tomb Kings taken the mantle of fourth lunch race. However Skaven makes more since in the narrative they have constructed, they way they talk about the fourth race, being very secretive and such, is also brilliantly in line with the concept of Skaven.
TK might very well be the first DLC, though....

Here's a couple of updates on some of the Lizardmen concept art. I think they're looking pretty wicked.

it's odd how they haven't shown us Kroq-Gar. Perhaps its simply because they wanted to emphasis the Carnosaur and not the rider in this concept, art. Like we do know that Mazda will be capable of riding Zlaaq, we just haven't seen him yet :)
